Appalachian Service Project

“Transforming Lives for Christ Through Middle and High School School Missions and Ministry.” The Jeremiah Project and Appalachian Service Project are youth mission organizations called to SERVE God’s people, EMPOWER students to be servant leaders, AFFIRM them as children of God, ENCOURAGE them to embrace a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and SUPPORT them in their desire to become Christian disciples. The youth bring a special energy for God touching many lives while making homes safer, warmer and drier.

Over the past several years, Trinity youth have participated in missions in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia and Kentucky. Each mission to a new place takes youth on a truly amazing journey as they make connections sharing God’s love. These missions bring opportunities to bond with homeowners, youth leaders and each other in an environment focused on God and having fun. Mission work is incredibly rewarding focusing on helping those in need through individual home projects which include building projects, yard work, painting, etc. There is nothing more rewarding than to feel the love from homeowners as youth make their homes more livable and safer. These missions are not only rewarding for the youth but fun! The programs incorporate worship with the work. Most of all, youth missions offer a great opportunity to do God’s work, cultivate leaders and encourage the youth to grow in their faith journey.

A Reflection on The Jeremiah Project Mission

“Transforming Lives for Christ Through Middle School Mission and Ministry.” The Jeremiah Project is a youth mission organization called to SERVE God’s people, EMPOWER middle school students to be servant leaders, AFFIRM them as children of God, ENCOURAGE them to embrace a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and SUPPORT them in their desire to become Christian disciples. Trinity participated in the Jeremiah Project in the summers of 2012 and 2013 and we plan to participate in 2014, taking middle school youth on a truly amazing journey. The mission focuses on helping those in need through small building projects, yard work, painting, etc. It is not only rewarding for the youth but fun! The program incorporates worship and work. Most of all, it offers a great opportunity to do God’s work and encourage the youth to grow in their faith journey. – Mary Mitchell
