The Cave Dwellers

Trinity youth are an active and contributing part of our church. All youth in the 6th through the 12th grades are invited to join in the activities. The youth meet twice a week – on Wednesday nights for Bible study and other learning activities and on Sunday nights for both learning and fellowship.

Lasting Bonds and Lifelong Lessons

The Youth have their own special meeting place, designed by and for youth. Located in the large windowless area beneath the sanctuary that housed the church fellowship hall before the FAC was constructed, the Cave is outfitted with comfortable furniture, TVs, electronics, computers with Internet service, games, and other modern fixtures. Calling themselves the Cave Dwellers, the Youth have a comfortable, casual and secure setting in which to learn their faith and to deal with issues facing this age group.

Service projects such as helping with community and church events, feeding the homeless, providing help to those in the community in need, and responding to special project needs are central to the Youth group’s mission.

The Youth group members are encouraged to participate in various age appropriate mission activities including the Jeremiah Project and the Navajo Mission Project, both of which involve youth responding to needs in other communities. And, our Youth participate in district Methodist Youth programs such as those held in Blackstone, Virginia and Lake Junaluska, North Carolina where they meet and interact with Youth from other churches and areas.

FUN and FELLOWSHIP are key components of the Youth Program. We take beach trips, ski trips, trips to Busch Gardens, participate in lock-ins, and other activities. Lasting bonds and lifelong lessons come from these experiences. Fun and fellowship are key components of the Youth Program.
