Angel Quilters Mission

Our mission is to provide quilts for any child in need in Smithfield, Isle of Wight County and the surrounding area. Our group consists of volunteers who are members and non-members of Trinity UMC. We had our first organizational meeting in May 2018 and within a month we had donated 20 quilts to Genieve Shelter, Christian Outreach, and a local child who had lost his mother. Since then we have completed over 300 quits and donated to CASA, For Kids, Christian Outreach, Smithfield Fire Stations, IOW Rescue Squad, IOW Sheriff’s Office, Smithfield PD, All God’s Children camps, and Genieve Shelter. We have more quilts in the works and plan to help other charities and individuals in the future. Before distribution, these quilts are blessed during a church service to add an additional layer of love for the recipient.

We are a volunteer organization and we have accumulated a large supply of fabrics from very generous quilters in the Tidewater area. We are in need of monetary donations so that we can purchase the other supplies needed to continue our ministry. If you would like to make a tax free donation, you may make a check payable to Trinity United Methodist Church and note on the memo line: “Angel Quilters.” Please mail checks to Trinity United Methodist Church, 201 Cedar Street, Smithfield, VA 23430. Thank you and we appreciate any support you can give.
